Food Services Staff Hot Cook

Providence Hall is a charter school located in Herriman UT. Central to the school's mission is teaching students to think critically, communicate effectively, and act responsibly. 

Providence Hall is accepting applications for part-time food services staff to join our team at either our Elementary, Junior High, or High School campus.

Schedule:

• Up to 27 hours/week


• As early as 8am on scheduled school days


• As late as 2pm on scheduled school days

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook hot menu items according to standardized recipes, production records, and meal pattern requirements


• Ensure meals meet USDA school nutrition guidelines and district standards


• Serve food to students in a friendly, professional, and age-appropriate manner


• Maintain proper food temperatures, portion control, and presentation during service


• Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures, including proper handwashing, glove use, and cleaning protocols


• Assist with daily kitchen setup, food prep, and service line readiness


• Accurately complete production records, temperature logs, and other required documentation


• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, work areas, and service lines during and after meal service


• Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food and supplies following FIFO procedures


• Work collaboratively with cafeteria staff to ensure efficient meal service


• Support special dietary needs as directed (allergies, medical diets, or accommodations)


• Follow all district policies, safety procedures, and supervisory instructions

Qualifications:

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time and perform repetitive tasks


• Ability to lift and carry 30-50 lbs


• Work in fast paced kitchen environment with heat, noise and time constraints


• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.


• Possess an even temper and good work ethic.


• Good organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multitask easily.


• Positive interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to maintain calm in high-stress situations.

• Willing to effectively problem-solve as needed.


• Capacity to perform all the responsibilities listed in this posting.

• Work in a loud, noisy environment around many youths.


• Obtain a Food Handler's permit within 2 weeks of starting work.


• Must pass a comprehensive background check, including criminal history, and professional references as a condition of employment.
