Job Title: High School Assistant Football Coach

Reports to: Head Football Coach / Athletic Director
Position Type: Seasonal / Part-Time

Job Summary:

The Assistant Football Coach supports the Head Coach in all aspects of the high school football program. This includes coaching student-athletes, managing practices, supporting game-day operations, ensuring athlete safety, and promoting a positive, respectful, and disciplined team culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning and conducting practices, drills,      and game strategies.
• Support the development of offensive, defensive, or      special teams units, depending on assigned role.
• Mentor student-athletes, emphasizing sportsmanship,      discipline, academic success, and personal growth.
• Provide supervision during practices, games, team      travel, and locker room settings.
• Assist with video analysis, scouting reports, and game      planning.
• Collaborate with the Head Coach to assess team and      individual performance.
• Communicate with parents, school staff, and      administrators in a professional manner.
• Uphold and enforce team rules, school policies, and      eligibility requirements.
• Help maintain equipment and manage inventory as needed.
• Attend coaches’ meetings, clinics, and school-sponsored      events as required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree      preferred).
• Prior football coaching or playing experience required.
• Knowledge of football fundamentals, rules, and safety      protocols.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership      skills.
• Must pass background check and meet district/state      coaching requirements.

Work Schedule:

• Practices typically held weekday afternoons and/or      evenings.
• Games on evenings or weekends (varies by level).
• Pre-season, in-season, and occasional off-season      responsibilities.
