The front desk is the first and last impression that members and prospective members see as they enter and exit the club. Customer service is key when welcoming and assisting parents, members, and prospective members. This position is an important step in providing a clean and safe environment for members and prospective members by verifying membership status.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Serving as the primary customer service and information center for the Club, including greeting all members and guests entering and leaving the Club, answering questions and/or directing members/guests to the proper department, providing products available for purchase by members/guests, etc.
Serving as the receptionist for all incoming calls to the Club (answer phones, transfer calls, take messages, etc.)
Scheduling personal training appointments, as outlined by the Personal Training Sales Director
Screening and authorizing each member’s entry into the club through I.D. and account verification, and register guests according to the outlined policies and procedures
Promoting club services, products, and activities through interaction with members/guests
Maintaining a clean and professional front desk environment, as well as assisting in housekeeping and maintenance of other club areas (as needed and available)
Maintaining proper inventory of all supplies, forms, and schedules, including informing the Supervisor, General Manager, or Area Director of low inventory
Attend and participate in required meetings and trainings as needed.

Requirements
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS – WHO YOU ARE:
Certified in CPR and First Aid (if not already certified, must be certified within the first 60 days of employment)
Must demonstrate a professional, upbeat demeanor at all times
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and ability to multi-task
Ability to use basic office machinery (i.e. fax, copier, multi-line phone system, etc.)
Prior experience in a service industry (i.e. food, retail, etc.)
Basic computer skills; prior experience with a cash register is preferred
People-friendly
Passion for fitness/health/wellness industry

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently required to walk and stand up to 8 hours/day and/or sit for an extended period of time. Team Members may be exposed to cleaning chemicals or airborne particles and will be required to wear designated PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as directed. Team Members are occasionally required to use hands and fingers for handle or feel; occasional reach, push and pulling with arms and hands; occasional climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and occasional reach and twist, including side-to-side movements. The team member may be required to occasionally lift, carry or move up to 25 pounds and may seldom be required to lift, carry or move 26-50 pounds.
