Position Summary: This position is a community based registered nursing role within Family Service of Rhode Island (FSRI) Health Division’s Infant/Childhood Programs. The Registered Nurse performs assessments and provides direct contact, care and comprehensive, community- based nursing services, as well as, screenings and care coordination for prenatal birthing persons, infants, children and families referred to the Early Childhood Programs.  

Qualifications:

• Licensed as RN by the RI DOH.
• Graduate of Board approved and accredited nursing program.
• Minimum 1-year experience in public health, pediatric nursing or community based care.
• Minimum of 1-year experience working with infants, young children and their families.
• Current and valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
• Current CPR certification, or able to receive within 3 months of employment.

Continuing Education Requirements:

• As needed to maintain individual licensure and meet RI DOH standards.
• Participation in semi-annual and annual employee performance review process including development and review of professional/program goals and objectives.
• Other trainings as required by Rhode Island Department of Health and/or EOHHS.

Physical Requirements:

• Travel to and from clients residence, community locations and office site, which could include using walkways, stairs and/or elevators.
• Ability to lift up to 20lbs.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
