If you love to get your hands dirty, come join The Essex Resort & Spa’s gardening team. Responsibilities include weeding, planting, pruning, and watering as well as the general maintenance and appearance of the grounds, gardens, and buildings. Prior knowledge of proper maintenance, equipment use and fertilizers, while following health and safety regulations is required. BASIC FUNCTION: Gardeners are responsible for weeding, planting, pruning and watering as well as the general maintenance and appearance of the grounds, gardens and buildings. Striving to create a pleasant environment that is safe and secure for both the employees and guests.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• The ability and willingness to interact with guests
• The ability to lift 50 lbs. and to perform strenuous physical tasks under a variety of conditions
• Experience in gardening work including watering, fertilizing, potting, repotting, pruning, grooming, and general maintenance a plus
• The ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• The ability to work a flexible schedule
• The ability to work in all weather and temperature condition
• The ability to work independently and follow directions
