General Laborer

McCallum Rock Drilling (MRD) is a rock drilling and blasting contractor based out of Chehalis, WA, that has been in business since 1988. MRD operates in commercial quarries, surface mines, timberlands and construction sites throughout the Western US. 

We are looking for a part-time General Laborer to join our Cheney, WA team. This position will be responsible for ensuring that our Mag Site location in Sprague, WA is continuously stocked with product, clean, and organized. Our "Mag Site" is where we safely store our explosives products that we use for blasting purposes. In addition to helping keep the Mag Site organized, he/she will assist with the inventorying of products and help load/unload trucks. A tele-handler, forklift, or pallet jack will be used at times. Applicants will be required to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time. Applicants must reside within the Cheney area to be eligible for employment. 

Minimum responsibilities include: 

• Must have a valid driver's license


• Must have a clean driving record (no more than three moving violations over the last three years)


• Ability to work 20-30 hours/week


• Willing to work mornings and/or early afternoons (Monday - Friday)


• Ensure the mag site is clean and organized, and free of clutter


• Perform daily tasks such as sweeping, stacking boxes/bags, break down boxes, etc. 


• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently  


• Able to safely operate pallet jack and tele-handler


• Willing to perform other various tasks as needed 
  
  

Minimum skills and qualifications include: 

• Must have a positive attitude and a very strong work ethic 


• Must be a self-starter 


• Must be reliable and dependable 


• Shows a great attention to detail and takes pride in their work


• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management 


• Has reliable transportation to the mag site location in Sprague, WA


• Ability to work a minimum 5 hour shifts 


• Basic computer skills a plus


• Willing and able to work in all weather conditions 


• Must be able to pass an ATF Criminal Background Check 


• Must reside within the Cheney region 

Compensation: 

• Type of Employment: Part-Time


• Hourly Rate: $21.00 - $22.00


• Hours: Monday - Friday; 20-30 hours/week
