Nirvana Healthcare is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented General Ultrasound Technician to join our dedicated team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art medical facility that prioritizes high-quality imaging, patient care, and professional growth.



We are looking for a compassionate and proficient sonographer experienced in general ultrasound and preferably vascular imaging. Additionally, we offer specialized training in Transcranial Doppler (TCD) and Fibroscan to enhance your expertise.



This position is available full-time, part-time, or per diem, offering competitive benefits and a collaborative, patient-focused work environment.



Key Responsibilities:


General Ultrasound Imaging:



  • Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with established protocols and physician requests.

  • Conduct abdominal ultrasounds to assess liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, and kidneys.

  • Perform renal ultrasounds to evaluate kidney pathology, including cysts, stones, and vascular abnormalities.

  • Execute pelvic ultrasound examinations (both transabdominal and transvaginal) to assess reproductive organs.

  • Conduct soft tissue imaging, including:


Thyroid ultrasound to evaluate nodules, goiters, and other thyroid abnormalities.


Scrotal ultrasound to assess testicular pathology, including torsion, masses, and varicoceles.


Prostate ultrasound (if applicable) to evaluate prostate size and abnormalities.



  • Vascular Ultrasound is Plus (Preferred, but Training Available):



  • Perform vascular ultrasound examinations, including:



  • Carotid Doppler to assess blood flow and detect potential blockages.



  • Aorta ultrasound to screen for aneurysms.



  • Renal Doppler to evaluate renal artery stenosis.



  • Arterial and venous Doppler studies to assess circulation and vascular disease.



  • Receive specialized training in:



  • Transcranial Doppler (TCD) imaging for stroke risk assessment and cerebrovascular studies.



  • Fibroscan technology to assess liver fibrosis and steatosis.


Patient Care & Workflow Management:



  • Prepare and position patients to obtain optimal imaging results while ensuring their comfort and privacy.

  • Provide clear explanations of procedures to patients, addressing any questions or concerns with professionalism and compassion.

  • Review images for diagnostic quality, proper positioning, and completeness before submission for physician interpretation.

  • Maintain accurate patient records and proper labeling of imaging studies in compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Ensure ultrasound equipment is properly maintained, reporting any malfunctions or concerns to the appropriate department.

  • Collaborate with physicians, radiologists, and healthcare team members to provide timely and accurate diagnostic information.


Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance:



  • Follow all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a sterile and safe work environment.

  • Comply with HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality and data security.

  • Stay up to date with advances in ultrasound technology, attending ongoing education and training as .


Qualifications & Requirements:



  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.

  • Certification: ARDMS or CCI certification in one or more of the following:



  • Abdomen



  • OB/GYN



  • RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer)



  • RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer)



  • RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) - Preferred but not


Experience:



  • Prior experience in general ultrasound, pelvic imaging, and soft tissue ultrasound is highly desirable.

  • Experience in vascular ultrasound (carotid, arterial, venous, renal Doppler) is a plus but not .


Skills & Abilities:



  • Strong knowledge of ultrasound physics, anatomy, and pathology.

  • Ability to work independently while maintaining efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and colleagues.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize subtle abnormalities in imaging.

  • Willingness to learn new imaging techniques (Fibroscan, TCD) and expand professional expertise.

  • 8-hour shift

  • Monday to Friday

  • Weekends as needed
