Graphics Designer

Description

Designs and paginates all advertising, special sections, promotions and digital for company publications in print and online using company equipment and software under the direction of management. Ensures deadlines are met.

Requirements

1. Designs, builds print and web advertisements using company computers and software, including software upgrades. 

2. Uses art services from third parties to design exceptional and creative ads. 

3. Corrects or changes ads as requested. Proofs ads for correct grammar and spelling content.

4. Reads, interprets and follows advertising layouts from account executives.

5. Designs and proofreads special flyers, print jobs, promotional materials and spec ads.

6. Uploads content to the web as assigned.

7. Maintains courteous communication between departments.

8. Paginates editorial copy for newspaper, special sections and may include outside job work.

9. Types or scans editorial copy (local & syndicated), ad copy, classified display and legal ads for newspaper, special sections, supplements, promotional items and outside job work.

10. Maintains and archives files of advertisements, may dummy the paper as needed. 

11. Exceeds customer’s expectations in a courteous and professional manner. A customer is anyone who contributes directly or indirectly to the revenues of the organization.

12. Basic knowledge of office equipment including computers, email, fax machines, scanners and copiers. Types accurately at least 40 words per minute.

Other Responsibilities: 

1. Participates in company safety policies and procedures. 

2. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing any customer service-related duties to the desired results as needed.

3. Cross trains in other jobs for back-up purposes and related duties as assigned by management. 

4. If the essential functions of the position require the employee to drive, they must provide and drive vehicle, possess a valid driver’s license and necessary amount of auto insurance.
