SUMMARY OF PRINCIPAL & MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: The Gulf Coasters Crew is responsible for performing a full range of customer service duties that support the overall operation of the Experience Department. Primary responsibilities include greeting and welcoming visitors, answering questions related to visiting Corpus Christi—including Padre and Mustang Islands—and maintaining a high level of excitement, approachability, and energy while conducting visitor satisfaction surveys.



Gulf Coasters operate at one of several locations throughout Corpus Christi, both indoors and outdoors, and must work effectively in all types of environments and weather conditions. The ideal candidate communicates effectively with visitors, staff, and management while promoting Corpus Christi and encouraging repeat visits.



CLASSIFICATION:  Part-Time, Non-exempt:  Semi-monthly, hourly.



PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Functions):



Visitor Engagement: 


•    Collect Net Promoter Score surveys to measure visitor sentiment.
•    Greet and welcome visitors at designated locations across the city.
•    Maintain accurate recording and record keeping of all visitor engagements.
•    Promote Corpus Christi at a variety of festivals and events.
•    Communicate and engage with potential and existing visitors daily, in person, and occasionally via phone, email,        or social media.
•    Contact tourism partners to gather targeted information for visitor-related inquiries.



Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills, and/or abilities.


•    Availability for weekends, holidays, and after-hours events.
•    Energetic, engaging, and approachable personality.
•    Strong hospitality and face-to-face customer service skills.
•    Knowledge of Corpus Christi area beaches, attractions, shops, restaurants, and special events.
•    Professional image that reflects Visit Corpus Christi’s brand.
•    Reliable transportation to work and events.
•    Strong time management and organizational skills.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
•    Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in a variety of situations.
•    Comfortable working outdoors in hot, cold, or inclement weather.
•    Ability to anticipate and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
•    Ability to work cooperatively with staff, managers, and partners.
•    Commitment to high ethical standards.



Education, Training and Experience 
•    High school diploma or equivalent.
•    Guest/visitor service experience preferred.
•    On-the-job training provided.



License/Certifications: 
•    Must have valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record.
