About The Equity

The Equity is an independent ag cooperative headquartered in Effingham, Illinois and has over 500 employees. Our market area currently includes 22 locations and covers central Illinois and southwest Indiana. The Equity has five divisions including: Agronomy, Grain, Feed & Livestock, Energy, and two Retail Stores, plus a Precision Agronomy dealership as well as a cutting-edge drone sprayer business. The Equity’s mission is to deliver value to our customers through operational excellence, providing information, exploring opportunities, and supporting profitable roles for producers.

Location: Altamont  

Reports to: Hardware Manager

Salary:  $15- $17 hour

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Leadership Characteristics:

· High School Diploma or GED. A farm background or hardware experience is preferred but not required.

· Demonstrates the ability to interact effectively with management and customers

· Possess excellent communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

1. Follow all established personnel, safety policies and procedures

2. Wait on customers in a courteous and timely manner

3.  Ability to organize orders, coordinate pickup times, and drive a forklift

4. Keep items stocked in a neat and timely fashion 

5. Assist Bag Feed Specialist, Hardware Lead, and Hardware Manager in all assigned tasks. 

6. Ability to maintain a neat and organized warehouse

7. Have a basic understanding of feed and hardware

Work Environment: The nature of the business may require extended hours. While performing the duties of the job, the employee occasionally works outside. 

Physical Demands: The physical demands include lifting objects up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and climbing stairs and ladders.

Travel: The employee may be required to travel to other locations, conferences, educational opportunities and other job-related activities.
