POSITION: Home Delivery Meal Driver FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO: Nutrition Coordinator SUPERVISES: N/A

APPROVED BY: Executive Director       

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for the daily delivery of frozen meals to eligible Home Bound Clients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Performs pre and post-trip inspections on vehicle. Documents inspections on COAST vehicle inspection sheet.
• Safely operates company vehicle to deliver meals on scheduled daily route.
• Completes daily paperwork and accurately documents times of delivery, number of meals delivered, and mileage incurred during delivery. Checks paperwork to ensure accuracy of information.
• Reports any and all incidents or issues (regarding clients, vehicles, food, etc.) to supervisor immediately.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to frequently lift and carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 35 pounds and to occasionally lift and carry with others equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to frequently bend, stoop, and reach above shoulder level and to occasionally squat, crouch, kneel and balance.
• Ability to frequently move in and out of cargo van (front and back).

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Work in indoor and outdoor climates
• Able to safely operate a vehicle in diverse weather and road conditions
• Time may vary to come in and leave – weather conditions

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Current driver’s license, current motor vehicle insurance and safe driving record
• Ability to read and understand street maps, GPS and familiarity with St Tammany Parish 
• Ability to display tact, compassion, and understanding in dealing with people

PAY RANGE: $10.00 – 12.00 hourly
