Description
POSITION PURPOSE: Sideline Cheerleading Head Coach is responsible for all aspects of the sideline cheerleading program to create an experience that allows students to fully discover their unique design and divine purpose by engaging in sideline cheer-related activities.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement a comprehensive sideline cheer program that includes a growth and development strategy for the whole program from 6th – 12th grades, as well as creating opportunities for our K-5th students to be involved in the program
Organize and conduct practice with a heavy emphasis on team development, individual growth, and skill development
Create an atmosphere of discipleship and build meaningful relationships with the cheerleaders and their families
Create and maintain a positive, life giving team culture that furthers the mission of CPA
Lead and motivate cheerleaders to perform to the best of their abilities in practice and in competition/game situations
Support students outside of the cheer program and be involved in various school events and activities
Lead and develop the coaching staff
Coordinate with appropriate administrators and officials to ensure compliance with all rules and regulations
Collaborate with COMPETITION Cheer coach and other members of the athletic department and coaching staff to create a cohesive and supportive athletic program. Promote standards consistent with the philosophy of the school, acting as a supplement to the overall emphasis placed upon spiritual and academic development during daily school activities for students who participate in cheer.
Create and coordinate game/competition/tryout schedules
Communicate consistently to ensure cheerleaders and families have all the necessary information

Education
Bachelor’s degree required
Master’s degree valued
Skills and Abilities
Highly relational
Self-starter
Excitement generator
Ability to think big picture while also managing the details
