The primary purpose of the head track & field coach at Southwest Christian is to develop student-athletes both on and off the track, guiding them to grow in athletic skill, character, and Christian faith. In essence, the role is about discipleship through sport—helping boys and girls become godly men and women, not just skilled athletes.
Essential Job Duties:
Strategy and Implementation: Design, coordinate, and implement systems and philosophies that lead to a championship culture.
Player Development: Instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training necessary for individual and team success. Focus on the holistic development of players, including academics, athleticism, track & field skills, and spiritual growth.
Team Leadership: Maintain discipline and work to increase morale and cooperation within the team and the broader school community. Supervise practices, meets, and team-related activities.
Mentorship and Spiritual Guidance: Actively participate in ministry opportunities such as mission trips, service projects, and advisory groups. Integrate spiritual development into the track & field program, serving as a Christian role model for student-athletes.
