We are seeking a dedicated Health & Beauty/General Merchandise Clerk to join our team at Cosentino's Price Chopper #157. This role involves providing exceptional customer service while maintaining the organization and presentation of our health, beauty, and general merchandise sections. The ideal candidate should possess strong interpersonal communication skills, a positive attitude, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe shopping environment. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced retail setting.

Responsibilities:

• Provide friendly and efficient customer service, utilizing excellent interpersonal communication skills.


• Stock merchandise, ensuring proper placement and presentation, demonstrating merchandising skills.


• Operate the Point Of Sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently.


• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the department, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.


• Assist with loading and unloading merchandise deliveries, demonstrating lifting ability.


• Utilize selling techniques to promote products and increase sales.


• Assist in inventory management, including stocking merchandise and monitoring stock levels.


• Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.


• Demonstrate product knowledge to assist customers with their selections.


• Work collaboratively with team members, demonstrating positivity and a strong work ethic.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of English Language.


• General knowledge of arithmetic and general mathematics.


• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.


• Experience with stocking merchandise.


• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


• Demonstrated ability to be detail oriented.


• Experience with customer service.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous retail experience.


• Familiarity with retail operations.


• Experience using a pallet jack.


• Understanding of warehousing procedures.
