Job Description - Health Families Initiative Representative

About the role

  • About ABCFM & the HFI Program

ABCFMis committed to strengthening marriages and families through biblical discipleship, training, and support. Our Healthy Family Initiative (HFI) serves as a statewide effort to equip and encourage families in living out God's design for marriage and family life. Through events, retreats, and regional engagement, HFI Representatives help lead the charge in bringing gospel-centered transformation to homes and communities across Arkansas.

Position Summary

The HFI Representative plays a vital role in advancing the mission of ABCFM by representing the Healthy Family Initiative (HFI) regionally. This position is ideal for a passionate communicator, teacher, and disciple-maker who is deeply committed to biblical marriage and family ministry. The Representative will lead retreats, speak at events, and serve as a relational ambassador for the ministry throughout Arkansas.

What you'll do

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead 4 marriage/family-focused retreats per year in coordination with HFI and ABCFM leadership
  • Speak at HFI events, sharing the biblical model for marriage and family with clarity and compassion
  • Represent ABCFM and HFI regionally, cultivating relationships with churches, leaders, and families
  • Teach and train individuals and couples in the Way of Grace discipleship model for marriages and families
  • Engage in administrative tasks related to events, travel planning, and communication as approved

Qualifications

Required:

  • Strong Christian faith and alignment with the doctrinal values of ABCFM (BF&M, 2000)
  • Passion and gifting in discipleship, teaching, and marriage ministry
  • Experience leading or speaking at retreats, workshops, or ministry events
  • Ability to clearly articulate and train others in biblical models for marriage and family (e.g., Way of Grace)
  • Willingness to travel regionally within Arkansas

Preferred:

  • Background in pastoral ministry, counseling, or marriage & family education
  • Experience working within Baptist and other evangelical church networks
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Familiarity with the unique needs and dynamics of Arkansas families and communities

Compensation & Perks

  • $25/hour for approved administrative and planning duties
  • Mileage reimbursement for official travel to events and retreats
