Job Description - Hemodialysis Technician

A Dialysis Technician helps patients have positive outcomes from dialysis treatments and remain safe and comfortable throughout dialysis sessions. The job description of a Dialysis Technician generally includes the following duties:

Describing the kidney dialysis process to patients and answering their questions before sessions

Setting up, operating and maintaining kidney dialysis machines

Preparing patients for dialysis and administering local anesthesia to reduce discomfort

Monitoring patients throughout the dialysis process and attending to any needs

Responding to medical emergencies

Updating and collaborating patient condition with nurses, physicians and other care team members

Recording dialysis treatment information in patient medical records

Adhering to policies and regulations related to infection control and patient safety and privacy

Compensation: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
