About the Role: We’re hiring one dedicated in-person tutor to provide small-group Algebra I instruction focused on Regents Exam preparation for students at South Bronx Preparatory. As a tutor, you’ll work as push-in support in 9th-grade and senior math classrooms, partnering with teachers to deliver targeted instruction that strengthens students’ mathematical skills and improves their Regents scores.
What You’ll Do:
Collaborate with teachers and school leaders to provide targeted Algebra I instruction for Regents Exam preparation.
Offer push-in support during classroom instruction, assisting teachers and working with small groups of students.
Reinforce key Algebra I concepts and problem-solving strategies to help students gain confidence and mastery.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement.
Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support academic growth.
Schedule:
Days: Tuesday – Thursday
Time: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Duration: April 1, 2025 – May 30, 2025 (excluding holidays and school conferences)
Key Dates Off:
April 14–18: Spring Recess
What We’re Looking For:
Experience: Prior experience tutoring or teaching Algebra I, particularly in Regents Exam preparation.
Subject Proficiency: Strong knowledge of high school Algebra I concepts and Regents exam requirements.
Team Player: A collaborative spirit and a willingness to work closely with teachers and students.
Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to engage effectively with students and school staff.
Passion: A commitment to educational equity and helping students from diverse backgrounds succeed.
Availability: Must be able to work the specified schedule consistently.
