HL Facility Aide

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Facility Coordinator, the Facility Aide position is responsible for the maintenance, attractiveness, and longevity of the grounds and facilities of the Sherwood Regional Family YMCA. The Aide will take an active role in recommending and carrying out maintenance projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

The responsibilities of the Facility Aide include, but are not limited to, the following: 

• Complete preventative maintenance and cleaning checklists. 
• Monitor facility cleanliness and take necessary action to create a clean, safe and friendly environment. 
• In consultation with your supervisor, work with outside vendors to perform repairs and recommend projects for annual major improvements. 
• Ability to perform manual labor, including bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, climbing, working at heights, and stand for periods up to 5 hours 
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors with hazards associated with hand and power tools. 
• Self-motivated and capable of carrying out directions independently 
• Communicate effectively with leadership staff or supervisor regarding any concerns 
• Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to use a computer.  
• Prepare facility for use in morning or secure building for closing in evening 
• Other duties as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Must pass YMCA background check 
• CPR/AED/First Aid certified, or ability to obtain within 30 days (preferred) 
• Knowledge of basic cleaning techniques and disinfecting materials

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer for extended periods of time and be able to communicate using a computer and phone/smart device. 
• The employee frequently is required to be able to move around the work environment and walk for extended periods. 
• This position primarily works indoors in and around fitness equipment 
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, kneel, and bend. 
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include identification of proper cleaning materials. 
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate noise.
