Job Description - Home Care Scheduler



About Us:


At BrightStar Care of Sterling Heights, we provide compassionate, high-quality in-home care that allows our clients to live safely and comfortably in their homes. We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Home Care Scheduler to join our team and play a vital role in coordinating care for our clients and caregivers. The position is part time and will become full time.


Position Summary:


The Home Care Scheduler is responsible for managing the daily schedule of care for clients by coordinating shifts, assigning caregivers, and ensuring continuity of care. This position requires excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills to meet client needs in a timely and efficient manner.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Coordinate and maintain caregiver schedules based on client needs and staff availability

  • Proactively fill open shifts and respond to last-minute call-offs

  • Communicate effectively with caregivers, clients, and case managers

  • Ensure accurate documentation in scheduling software 

  • Track and monitor caregiver compliance (certifications, availability, shift preferences)

  • Participate in on-call rotation as needed

  • Support recruitment and retention initiatives by building strong caregiver relationships


Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor's degree preferred)

  • 1+ year of experience in scheduling, home health, or healthcare setting preferred

  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in scheduling software

  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
