Position: Hospice Aide (CNA)
Type: PRN/Part-Time to go Full-Time with Growth
Pay: $19-$20 per Hour (based on Experience)

We’re currently seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team of Hospice Aides. No prior hospice experience required—if you've worked as a CNA in a hospital, clinic, or care facility, we encourage you to apply!
Position Overview
As a Hospice Aide with Luna Del Valle Hospice, you will provide compassionate personal care and emotional support to patients during their end-of-life journey. You’ll work closely with an interdisciplinary team and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or licensed therapist to ensure each patient’s comfort, safety, and dignity.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with personal care such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene
- Support mobility, safe transfers, and repositioning to enhance comfort and prevent injury
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and families
- Perform simple therapeutic procedures such as range-of-motion exercises and ambulation under direction
- Assist in administering medications that are typically self-administered, under RN guidance and in accordance with state regulations
- Carry out light housekeeping tasks essential to the patient’s health and comfort
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and changes in patient condition
- Participate in patient care conferences and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
- Follow written care instructions from an RN or therapist
- Uphold strict patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA and safety regulations
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in New Mexico
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of a state-approved CNA training or competency evaluation program
- Must be listed in good standing on the New Mexico Nurse Aide Registry
- Compassionate bedside manner and empathetic approach to patient care
- Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition patients safely
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must not be listed on the OIG Excluded Provider List
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience as a CNA, home health aide, or similar role
- Experience working with elderly or terminally ill patients
Additional Requirements
- Occasional participation in on-call rotation may be required
- Must be able to manage time efficiently and work independently in the field
- Must be open to continuing education and attending in-services
