We partner with experienced house assistants and household professionals to help them find roles that truly fit their skills, lifestyle, and season of life. We take the time to understand what kind of home environment you thrive in, the hours you want to work, and the type of family you want to support.

Beyond placement, HUM provides guidance, structure, and best practices that make your work easier and more fulfilling — plus a community of other household professionals, so you’re never doing this work alone.

Daily Household Operations

• Daily reset: kitchen, common areas, bedrooms as needed

• Laundry management: wash, fold, put away (correctly)

• Organization maintenance (home already has systems; you help maintain and improve them)

• Restocking and inventory awareness (pantry, fridge, supplies, household goods)

• Errands as needed (grocery runs, household pickups)

Food Support

• Prep breakfast/lunch for the child (daily)

• Light breakfast support for adults (coffee, fruit, simple staples)

• Keep healthy options on hand (prep removes friction)

Coordination & Logistics

• Coordinate vendors as needed (cleaners, repairs, services)

• Vehicle support at a coordination level (car wash, refueling/charging, oil change coordination)

• Light pet support (let dogs out/in, kibble, basic routine)

Required Qualifications

• Experience managing a private household or similar operational role

• Comfort supporting children; prior parenting experience strongly preferred

• Comfortable in a multi-ethnic household and handling diverse foods

• No food handling allergies (must be able to work with nuts, shellfish, etc.)

• Physically capable of active mornings and household movement

• Authorized to work in the U.S.

• Judgment-oriented: Able to make decisions without constant instruction

• Task-focused but warm: Professional, friendly, but not chatty

• Detail-driven: Notices what’s off before being asked

• Independent: Can “read the room” and execute without micromanagement

• Discreet & trustworthy: Comfortable working in a private home
