Houseman/Porter

Candidates must be flexible and able to workdays, nights, weekends, and holidays. Houseman candidates will perform a combination of tasks which maintain the hotel premises in a clean an orderly manner, thereby contributing to a positive guest experience.

Houseman candidates will perform all cleaning duties including but not limited to:

· Dusting, polishing, sweeping, washing, mopping, vacuuming, and shampooing in rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, vending, and other work areas ensuring that The Manhattan Club standards and appropriate health standards are met.

· Carry and restock linen, towels, toilet items, amenities, and cleaning supplies.

· Running supplies and service items to guestrooms as requested.

· Collecting soiled linens for laundering and receiving and storing linen supplies in appropriate locations.

· Removing and transporting trash from guest rooms, public areas, etc. to disposal areas.

· Additional projects as assigned by Management including furniture and supply deliveries which require heavy lifting.

Additional Requirements

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

· Knowledge of the English language and ability to communicate effectively in face to face situations as well as read instructions.

· Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (7 hours or more).

· Frequent pushing, pulling, reaching, stretching, stooping, handling, and gripping is required. Ability to frequently lift or carry up to 50 lbs. Ability to occasionally lift or carry more than 75 lbs.

· Ability to walk down two flights of stairs and walk up one flight of stairs.

· Ability to arrange things in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules.

· Adhere to dress code policies as outlined in the employee handbook and maintain a polished and professional appearance at all times.
