Housing Advocate - Champlain Place - Evening Shift

Our Housing Advocates will provide a client-centered, trauma-informed support for emergency housing guests and others experiencing homelessness with the ultimate goal of empowering individuals to access safe, sustainable housing. Our Housing Advocates work with clients to secure housing and access essential benefits, and refer people to employment, medical, mental health and substance use disorder services and will work with an array of community partners to help clients access options for housing and social services. Addressing barriers to housing and working with our partner agencies to address those barriers is a crucial aspect of this role. Our Housing Advocates work in partnership with clients to promote a sense of community.

Evening shifts are from 4:00pm - 12:00am.

We are seeking candidates with relevant human services experience. Direct experience in advocacy and service provision to individuals affected by housing and economic insecurities; in-depth knowledge of the causes and effects of homelessness, affordable housing, poverty, economic justice, and multiple oppressions affecting economically vulnerable groups; and knowledge of community resources are desired. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, computer, and data entry skills and effective verbal and written communication skills are required (bilingual skills a plus!).
