Summary:
The HR Assistant provides support to the People Operations Manager and plays a critical role in supporting the overall effectiveness of the People Operations Department by assisting with tasks that foster a positive work environment. This role involves assisting with recruitment, onboarding, benefits, and HR-related projects while maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring compliance with HR laws and regulations. Responsibilities:
- Assist in recruitment efforts, including posting job advertisements, screening resumes, and coordinating interview schedules
- Support the onboarding process by preparing new hire documents and coordinating orientation schedules
- Help maintain accurate HR databases, digital files, and confidential record-keeping systems
- Support the benefits team with administrative tasks, including assisting with wellness program initiatives
- Assist in organizing and coordinating HR events, training sessions, and employee engagement activities
- Provide administrative support to the People Ops team, including meeting coordination and filing
- Assist in maintaining positive employee relations by addressing employee inquiries and escalating issues to the People Ops Manager when necessary
- Contribute to special projects across various HR functions
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- 1-3 years of HR education or relevant experience
- High School Diploma required; current enrollment in or completion of HR-related degree program preferred
- Outstanding customer service orientation with a focus on positive employee experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
- Strong organizational abilities and efficient time-management practices
- Demonstrated follow-through and commitment to project completion
- Absolute discretion with confidential and sensitive information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Eagerness to learn and apply new HR concepts and best practices
- Professional proactivity and initiative in anticipating departmental needs
- Positive attitude, flexibility, and strong work ethic
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while managing multiple priorities
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of basic HR functions and employment laws.
- Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and ADP or other HRIS software.
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP or PHR) is a plus.
