In-School Counselor - Radnor School District

Summary: An In-School Counselor’s role is to help students identify, manage and overcome mental and emotional issues that are adversely affecting their education. An In-School Counselor will listen to students and ask questions to help them understand their problems and develop strategies to improve their lives. An In-School Counselor will work cooperatively with school district staff to monitor and support students’ progress and transition out of services. An In-School Counselor will work with individuals, groups and families and help provide community resources as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities: For an assigned caseload of students – 

Description

Work with elementary school students, helping them identify, manage, and overcome the challenges that are negatively impacting their education. 

Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and other school staff to share the tools and strategies that will best support each individual student.

This is a part-time position.

Description:

• Individual and Group Services
• Support students and assess their needs as they relate to behavioral goals, future planning and available services.
• Consult and collaborate with other professionals regarding students’ treatment, progress, and delivery of services.
• Collaborate with and educate staff regarding behavioral needs of students.
• Assist with crisis response as needed.

Requirements and Qualifications: 

• Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related mental health field.
• License preferred (LPC, LSW, LCSW, or LMFT).
• Excellent interpersonal skills with students, families, colleagues, and community resources.
• Experience working within a school setting desired.
