New England Dermatology & Laser Center has been providing dermatology care to the greater Springfield community for over 70 years.  We're looking for an experienced Insurance Verification & Referral Associate with conscientious work ethics & dedication to the team to join our busy specialty practice.

The insurance verification and referral associate is responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage, identifying any patient cost-sharing or expenses, confirming required referrals and ensuring other required documentation is in place prior to patient encounters to ensure a clean billing process.  Collects patient balances as needed. This position provides superior customer service to callers with insurance verification and referral questions and concerns. 

Professional, courteous, patient, team player that works well independently and as part of a team. Heavy patient interaction over the phone.  Proficiency with electronic health record and Microsoft Office software programs. Accuracy, organization, attention to detail, good judgment, analytical skills & follow-through, tact, diplomacy, persistence and persuasion required. 

Job Type: Part-time

Flexible schedule 24 hours per week Monday - Friday 7:30a-4p (1/2 hour non-paid lunch based on schedule)

• No weekends

· In person

· The regular work location will be the Westfield office; willingness to travel to other offices as needed.

This position reports to the Billing Manager.

Pay

The hiring range is $20.21-$24.26 per hour based on experience and education.

Requirements

1-3 years medical office experience, including customer service, insurance and referrals required.  Dermatology experience preferred.  High school diploma or GED required.

Professionalism, courtesy, patience, accuracy, keen attention to detail, good judgment & follow-through, verbal & written communication skills, ability to multi-task, proficiency with electronic health record and Microsoft Office software programs.
