Saafe is seeking a highly self motivated Insurance Verification Specialist to join our team. This person will confirm that a patient's insurance will cover required medical services. They may also work with patients to verify coverage levels and educate them on their benefits information.
Responsibilities include:
Supporting medical billing staff
Tracking physician referrals
Providing necessary details to billing staff
Meeting state and federal regulatory guidelines
Verifying patient information, billing, medical coding, and conducting claims examinations
Calling to obtain pre-authorization for services
Helping patients understand their financial responsibilities
Informing clinical staff about denials
Answering questions related to billing and insurance
Insurance verification specialists often interact with physicians, claims processors, medical billers, and patients. So, they need to have excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
Requirements:
High school diploma
Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures and diagnosis
Knowledge of computer and relevant software applications
Knowledge of general administrative and clerical procedures
Working knowledge of healthcare insurance preferred
