Intermediate Accountant

We have a full-time position for an Intermediate Accountant position in Exton, Pennsylvania.

This role is hybrid - in-office with 20% flexibility to work from home.

Reporting to the Regional Controller, U.S., the Intermediate Accountant is a professional accountant with 4+ years of experience and a post-secondary education in business, finance, or accounting. This role is accountable for providing Business Unit accounting functions, detailed analysis, reporting, audits and budget & forecasts. 

The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player with a keen eye for detail.  The Intermediate Accountant will need extensive experience and solid judgment to plan and accomplish goals and perform a variety of tasks, as well as, work directly with senior individuals. This position offers variety and opportunity to provide feedback and ideas in to drive innovation and process improvement. 

Duties and responsibilities:

• Support Business Unit accounting functions including ensuring month-end accounting processes are followed and results comply with the company’s accounting policies


• Conduct analytical review of business unit performance and results to budget, for monthly management reporting, forecasting, accruals, and actuals


• Review all weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting for accuracy and correctability


• Review and analyze business unit financial forecasting including income statements, capital, and cash flows


• Upload accruals and journal entries in Navision and/or SAP


• Prepare and evaluate financial operating reports and present findings recommendations


• Participate in audits as required by stakeholders which includes intercompany, interdivisional and Joint Venture elimination processes


• Support regional leads and management in preparing budget & forecasts


• Support management in all accounting, tax, treasury, and controls related issues


• Assist in performing ad- hoc analysis for internal reporting purposes


• Liaise with Corporate Accounting and external auditors for business unit audit requests


• Liaise with and support Corporate Financial Reporting in preparation of external financial statements and MD&A


• Compile and review International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) research as required


• Ensure proper adherence to all administrative and operational processes, procedures, and policies in relation to assets


• Provide feedback to effectively design preventative and detective controls to aid in the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements. Regularly offers process improvement ideas, shares best practices, and facilitates standardization among divisions


• Exercises professional judgment to strike the right balance between the business objectives of the division and the Company’s requirements under IFRS


• Other duties as required

Qualifications

• Completed a professional accounting designation or in progress to completion


• Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in business, accounting, finance or a relevant related field


• 4+ years’ experience in accounting or an accounting related role is necessary


• Computer literate including an understanding of accounting programs and Microsoft applications


• Experience in managing, leading, and interacting with staff


• Advanced Excel knowledge


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of professional interaction with various levels of operations and other departments


• Works well under pressure with multiple concurrent deadlines


• Excellent analytical skills and takes initiatives to solve problems


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team


• Ability to pass pre-employment criminal records check & drug and alcohol testing
