K-8 Tutor

K–8 Math & ELA Tutor
Carlsbad & Oceanside, CA | After-School Hours 

We are seeking a caring and reliable K–8 Tutor to provide support in Math and English Language Arts for students in the Carlsbad and Oceanside areas. This is an in-person tutoring role during the after-school window, ideally between 3–5pm.

This is a wonderful opportunity for teachers, substitute teachers, student teachers, and education majors who want flexible hours and the chance to make a meaningful impact outside of the classroom.

What You’ll Do

• 
  

  Provide one-on-one tutoring in Math and ELA for students in grades K–8

  
  


• 
  

  Reinforce classroom concepts and strengthen foundational skills

  
  


• 
  

  Adapt instruction to meet each student’s unique learning style and needs

  
  


• 
  

  Encourage student confidence and a positive approach to learning

  
  


• 
  

  Communicate progress and strategies with families and our team

  
  

What We’re Looking For

• 
  

  Strong knowledge of K–8 Math and English Language Arts

  
  


• 
  

  Tutoring or teaching experience preferred

  
  


• 
  

  Patient, supportive, and encouraging teaching style

  
  


• 
  

  Reliable, professional, and punctual

  
  


• 
  

  Must have reliable transportation to travel to student homes in Carlsbad and Oceanside

  
  


• 
  

  Availability between 3–5pm on weekdays preferred 

  
  

Qualifications

• 
  

  Bachelor’s degree (or working toward one) in education or related field preferred

  
  


• 
  

  Experience tutoring or teaching elementary and middle school students a plus

  
  


• 
  

  Strong communication skills with students and parents
