FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly

Work Schedule:  Monday & Wednesday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Tuesday & Thursday 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch break. Hours during the summer may be adjusted with supervisors.
Reports to: Director of Religious Education
Projected Start Date: July 1, 2025

Summary 

The St. Ann KDO Program Coordinator is responsible for leading and developing the ministry so that it serves as an opportunity to connect families to the life of the church. 

Position Responsibilities

  • Develop the culture of the ministry to support the mission and vision of St. Ann Catholic Church through the St. Ann KDO Program. 
  • Regularly observes and participates within the classroom setting.
  • Develops a relationship with the teachers through active support.
  • Works in collaboration with the Director of Religious Education to provide creative resources for parents on their child’s spiritual growth.
  • Greets families at the start of the day and ensures the environment is welcoming. 
  • Creates and develops branding through ministry publications and promotional materials for the ministry to communicate the vision.
  • Oversees and coordinates a Meet & Greet for children to meet their teachers.
  • Ensures families who enroll after the start of the year, receive the same start-of-the year welcome with appropriate forms and “Meet & Greet” packets 
  • Coordinates enrollment and interest of/into the ministry, maintaining a personal connection with the parent. 
  • Develops and trains staff on the daily routine of the children.
  • Ensures age-appropriate activities are selected and teachers are following guidelines of the Archdiocese.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Religious Education and Pastor in choosing the KDO curriculum annually to ensure it fits the vision of St. Ann.
  • Serve as a bridge to the families who attend and coordinate with the Ministry Leaders on events that are developed to encourage meaningful connection. 
  • Maintains the vision of the ministry through events planned with the purpose of connecting with parents, equipping, or celebrating with them in the season they are in (Ex: Thanksgiving Lunch, Promotion Ceremony).
  • Creates an atmosphere within the ministry of an outreach to the families enrolled and communicates relevant church event information to invite them to events.
  • Creates and ensures regular communication with parents is occurring thru newsletters. 
  • Encourages involvement of the parents of the ministry through volunteer opportunities 
  • Oversee Day-to-day management of the KDO Program.
  • Works alongside the Director of Religious Education to create, submit, and oversee the budget for the Kid’s Day Out ministry. 
  • Maintains information files that include medical and other personal data on each child.
  • Creates and maintains a handbook for parents regarding the ministry and policies for parents.
  • Update the handbook as needed. 
  • Attends staff meetings and trainings as needed. 
  • Ensure all safe environment mandates are implemented and followed as directed by the Archdiocese of San Antonio for all volunteers involved in the St. Ann KDO Program. 
  • Manages and maintains all tuition fees and records. 
  • All other duties assigned by Pastor and/or supervisor. 

Important Information about the role of St. Ann KDO Program Coordinator 

1. The KDO Coordinator should be actively seeking a relationship with Jesus Christ and is a Catholic in good standing. 

2.  Each year, the responsibilities will shift and increase due to ministry development. The weekly schedule and salary will continue to adjust accordingly with each year. As you consider this role, pray for guidance if this is a role you can commit to. 

Requirements

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Must have satisfactory outcome of background check prior to starting employment and complete all Safe Environment Mandates for the Archdiocese of San Antonio. 

Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience working in a child care setting. 

Minimum Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite and Google Suite. Knowledge of Microsoft Suite and Google Suite.
  • Ability to relate and communicate effectively with the public. 
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Ability to plan and/or implement instructional activities. 
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate a variety of technology and equipment. 
  • Ability to perform clerical responsibilities. 
  • Ability to cooperate and work as a member of a team. 
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team;
  • Must have good written and verbal skills;
  • Must have good critical thinking and problem solving skills.
