Kennel Technician Part-Time Evenings and Weekends

Our animal care facility is looking for an animal lover to join our kennel management team as a Kennel Technician.  To qualify for this role, you must have a positive attitude and a genuine love for dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes and other animals at our facility.  In this role, you do more than cleaning and disinfecting our kennels - you also learn animal care and behavior basics while assisting our team with feeding, grooming and walking tasks.  Having previous experience in a pet care environment or kennel is a plus, but we will provide training to the right candidate.  You also need to have the physical stamina to keep up with our more active dogs.

Kennel Technician Duties and Responsibilities

*  Checking animals in and out for boarding.  Responsible for labeling belongings, food and medications as well as ID collars
*  Monitoring the health and comfort of the animals as well as recognizing emergency
*  Documentation of all treatments and abnormal activity
*  Walking dogs and picking up after them
*  Provide animals with food and water according to our feeding schedule
*  Cleaning and disinfecting the kennels and cages
*  Changing bedding when soiled and replace with clean bedding
*  Washing, drying and folding laundry
*  General housekeeping of animal housing, food prep, laundry areas, lobby and grounds
*  Administration of oral or topical medications as directed by veterinarians and vet techs including flea and tick medications
*  Walking and playing with the animals
*  Help with bathing and grooming tasks
*  Other tasks needed to ensure the health, well being and safety of the animals
*  Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
*  Holidays may be required, paid at time and a half
