KidzCare Lead (Part-time)

Pay: $18.55/hour - $20.27/hour

The Saratoga Regional YMCA is seeking a dedicated KidzCare Site Lead to oversee daily program activities, support staff and children, and serve as a trusted point of contact for families. You'll help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment while ensuring programs meet YMCA standard, policies, and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Ensure a safe, healthy, and inclusive environment for all children enrolled in the program.
• Lead, oversee, and participate in daily program activities and curriculum implementation in alignment with YMCA philosophy.
• Promote an effective, constructive team-teaching environment focused on meeting the developmental needs of children.
• Maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios and ensure compliance with all program, safety, and licensing requirements.
• Ensure proper hygiene practices are followed by children and staff.
• Hire, onboard, train, schedule, supervise, evaluate, and retain program staff.
• Plan, assign, and delegate staff responsibilities; meet regularly with staff to address program needs and concerns.
• Provide and facilitate staff training opportunities, including early childhood development, program policies, and YMCA procedures.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents and guardians through clear, consistent, and professional communication.
• Explain program policies, procedures, and expectations to new and existing families.
• Ensure proper and safe check-in and check-out procedures; develop and adjust procedures as needed.
• Oversee program scheduling, care reservations, and hourly billing; update participant and program files as required.
• Communicate schedule changes, closures, and billing matters to front desk and relevant YMCA staff.
• Maintain inventory, cleanliness, and proper care of program equipment, materials, and spaces; share housekeeping responsibilities with staff.
• Participate in program-related events, staff meetings, family activities, and YMCA community initiatives.
• Assist with public relations and member engagement activities as requested.
• Maintain confidentiality of all program, staff, and participant information.
• Maintain required certifications, including First Aid, CPR, AED, and any additional YMCA-mandated training.
• Uphold professional standards of conduct, appearance, and communication at all times.
• Participate in ongoing professional development, trainings, conferences, and courses as required.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Associate’s Degree in Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, or a related field OR
• NYS Children’s Program Administrator Credential OR
• School Age Child Care Credential OR
• Two years of college coursework with at least 18 credits in child development, education, recreation, or a related field.
• Minimum of two (2) years of direct experience working with children (generally under age 13), including at least one (1) year in a supervisory capacity within a child care or youth development program.
• Demonstrated understanding of child supervision, developmental needs, and staff-to-child ratios.
• Ability to work a required 12-month calendar year, including summers.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred (required within a specified timeframe upon hire if not already certified).
