Kitchen Assistant, B'nai Jehudah CDC

B’nai Jehudah Child Development Center is a partnership between The Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City and The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah. The B’nai Jehudah CDC is a warm, welcoming and inclusive community that offers childcare classrooms for children ages 6 weeks through 2 years.  

The Kitchen Assistant prepares nutritious snacks and lunches for preschool students at this location.

Essential Functions

• Counting, sorting and portioning snacks and lunch items for preschool students (no cooking required)
• Delivering food to preschool classrooms
• General kitchen cleaning, dishwashing and organization
• Process and organize weekly food deliveries

Schedule

This part time position is typically scheduled to work Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

• Able to count, sort and organize inventory
• Willing to learn to use basic kitchen equipment
• Willing to learn basic food preparation skills

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for at least duration of daily shift
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for short distances
• Dexterity to type, serve, cut, lift, write and use hands and legs to complete the tasks of the position
• Reliable transportation
