Kitchen Manager – Allegan Event Food & Beverage

We’re looking for a hands-on Kitchen Manager to lead our Food & Beverage operations at Allegan Event. This role is ideal for someone who can balance daily kitchen tasks with creative input, all while working in a small, AC controlled, oven-only kitchen setup. If you love improving processes, creating memorable guest experiences, and working in a team-driven environment, we’d love to meet you.

What You’ll Do:

• Oversee daily kitchen and F&B operations within budget and high quality standards.

• Plan, prepare, and serve menu items—both existing favorites and new creations.

• Train, lead, and support a small F&B team.

• Maintain clean, organized kitchen space and ensure food safety compliance.

• Handle weekly inventory, ordering, and tracking of food and supplies.

• Monitor and report cost of goods sold (COGS) and sales performance.

• Provide excellent service and quickly address guest concerns.

• Work closely with leadership to brainstorm and roll out menu improvements.

What You Bring:

• At least 1 year of restaurant or food service leadership experience.

• Solid understanding of POS systems and basic computer skills (Google Suite, etc.).

• ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).

• Clear, direct communication and leadership skills.

• Confidence in managing a team and meeting financial goals.

• Creativity in food prep—especially when working with limited equipment.

• Dependable, detail-oriented, and customer-focused.

The Space:

We operate a unique kitchen setup—no grill, no fryer, just a versatile oven system—so we’re looking for someone who’s excited by the challenge of creating quality menu items within those limits. Our kitchen has AC and is temperature controlled. 

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and move for long periods.

• Frequent lifting (up to 25 lbs regularly, up to 50 lbs occasionally).

• Regular reaching, bending, and light physical tasks typical of a kitchen environment.
