Do you love cooking? Have good customer service skills?  Want free meals while on shift? Logan River Academy has a part-time afternoon and weekend shift kitchen staff cook position open now.  20+ hours per week.  

WHO WE ARE:  Logan River Academy is a residential treatment center and fully accredited school for adolescent youth ages 12-18. We help students struggling with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues including autism spectrum disorders, anxiety, oppositional behavior, bipolar disorder, PTSD, substance abuse, depression, ADHD, impulse control, peer pressure, anger management, self-esteem, grief/loss issues, family relationships, communication, academic struggles, or other setbacks in their life. Our mission is to provide support and structure to help these students make good choices, be successful, and receive the academic and therapeutic help that they may need.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Energetic entry-level or experienced cook who works well with others and demonstrates patience with adolescents. Bonus if you have a passion for helping others and making a difference in the lives of others. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: 

Prepping and serving meals.

Washing dishes after meals.

Ensures the care and cleanliness of kitchen and dining area, including general cleaning, sweeping, mopping, taking out garbage.

Daily deep cleaning during designated hours.

Coordinating with coworkers for future meal preparation.

Communicating with clients and understanding their needs while following Company guidelines, maintaining cleanliness of kitchen, and keeping them occupied.

Communicating with additional staff regarding resident special needs and assignments. 

Requirements

  

  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Good communication skills: Listening, Speaking and Collaborating.  
  • Prefer one-year previous experience in any commercial kitchen setting but will train the right candidate.
  • Energetic and Resilient.
  • Patient and Compassionate.
  • Be able to pass a Background Check.
  • Physically able to bend, stand, stoop, or sit for long periods of time.
  • Continuously use hands for simple and firm grasping and fine manipulation. 
  • Carry and lift up 50 pounds.
