Laundry Attendant

Description

The Clocktower Hotel at Century House is looking for a laundry attendant to fill an immediate opening in Latham, NY. The laundry attendant is responsible for the washing and folding of bed and dining linens, towels, and other items required by the hotel. This position helps create a welcoming environment for all hotel guests. Previous relevant experience is highly preferred.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Laundry Responsibilities

• Quality Control of linens: separating damaged, worn, or stained items for further treatment or removal from inventory.
• Sorting linens, towels, clothing, and other laundry items by color, size, and material
• Wrapping laundry items for pickup or delivery to customers and hospitality guests
• Washing items with commercial laundry equipment following proper sanitization and hotel protocols.
• Cleaning and maintaining laundry room area and equipment
• Unloading laundry from commercial dryers
• Stocking laundry supplies such as detergent, bleach, laundry bags, and fabric softener.
• Helps inventory all linens and terry.
• Complies with all OSHA and other safety regulations.

Guest Service

• Offers guests assistance whenever possible.
• Responsible for resolving or escalating customer relations issues.
• Responsible for positively representing and promoting the property.

Other Duties as Assigned

• Completes daily laundry report.
• Informs the Housekeeping Manager of progress or issues.
• Reports any maintenance, security, or safety issues to the appropriate staff.
• Other duties as assigned.

Salary

• $15.50 - $17.00 per hour

Requirements

SKILLS, EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND, AND EXPERIENCE

• Previous relevant experience is highly preferred.
• Ability to work efficiently under time constraints.
• Ability to work with cleaning chemicals.
• Must be able to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds frequently.
• Must be able to reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• The employee must frequently climb, balance, and talk or hear.
• The employee is occasionally required to sit and smell.
• Able to work a flexible schedule.
