Lead Maintenance Tech - Night Shift

Diversified Foods and Seasonings is seeking a highly skilled Lead Maintenance Technician to join our Madisonville, LA facility. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical expertise in industrial automation and multicraft maintenance, combined with the ability to lead, train, and support a maintenance team.

The Lead Maintenance Technician will act as the right hand to the Maintenance Supervisor, ensuring the success of both the team and the department. This role requires a balance of technical ability, leadership, and organizational skills to drive equipment reliability, support team development, and maintain operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and mentor maintenance technicians to build technical skills and ensure team effectiveness.

• Develop, update, and implement maintenance documentation, including Preventive Maintenance (PMs), One Point Lessons (OPLs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Records of Training.

• Report on equipment downtime, identify root causes, and recommend corrective/preventive actions.

• Support and lead team meetings, ensuring clear communication of expectations, updates, and best practices.

• Fill in for team members during callouts to ensure uninterrupted coverage.

• Partner with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure department goals are met and provide support to enhance supervisor effectiveness.

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial equipment (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, automation, PLC/HMI systems, robotics, and instrumentation).

• Perform and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize equipment reliability.

• Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of industrial automation and multicraft maintenance experience required.

• Demonstrated leadership skills with experience training, mentoring, or leading a maintenance team.

• Advanced technical knowledge across mechanical, electrical, automation, and control systems.

• Skilled in diagnosing and repairing industrial machinery including conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and packaging equipment.

• Ability to develop and maintain maintenance programs and technical documentation.

• Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to collaborate across departments.

• Proficient in interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

• Proactive problem solver with strong attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.

• Willingness to operate forklifts, manlifts, and other industrial equipment as needed.
