The Mission of the San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) is to protect and promote the health of all San Franciscans. SFDPH strives to achieve its mission through the work of multiple divisions - the San Francisco Health Network (SFHN), Population Health, Behavioral Health Services, and Administration. The SFHN is the City’s only complete system of care and has locations throughout the City, including Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center, and over 15 primary care health centers. The Population Health Division (PHD) provides core public health services for the City and County of San Francisco: health protection, health promotion, disease and injury prevention, and disaster preparedness and response. Behavioral Health Services operates in conjunction with SFHN and provides a range of mental health and substance use treatment services.
ABOUT SFHN AMBULATORY CARE: Ambulatory Care is at the center of SFHN’s complete system of care. Our fourteen (14) primary care health centers/programs, Whole Person Integrative Care programs (serving people experiencing homelessness), and Jail Health Services provide high-quality, compassionate care to the City’s children, youth, adults, and elders regardless of immigration status or ability to pay.
On-site specialty services include prenatal care and family planning services; integrated behavioral health and substance use services; dental, gender health, nutrition, pharmacy, and podiatry services; integrative health services such as acupuncture; and care for people experiencing homelessness; refugees/asylum seekers; and justice involved individuals.
Our teams partner with University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) faculty and staff who provide acute, specialty, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation care; teach health care trainees; and conduct research at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (ZSFG).
We are dedicated to eliminating health disparities and becoming an anti-racist organization by prioritizing racial justice and equity in healthcare. We are striving to promote an inclusive work environment that is aware of and responsive to bias and privilege. We aim to build trust among staff from different backgrounds, provide opportunities for professional development and advancement, and actively recruit and retain a diverse work force at all levels.
The Department of Public Health’s San Francisco Health Network Ambulatory Care (SFHN AC) division is recruiting for one permanent exempt part-time lead podiatrist to work in our community-based ambulatory care health centers/programs in the classification of 2232-Senior Physician Specialist.
