Shady Creek Winery, a family-owned winery nestled just minutes from Lake Michigan, is seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, and customer-focused individual to assist in leading our tasting room team. This part-time role (roughly 30 hors per week) requires weekend availability, with additional weekday shifts, and offers an exciting opportunity to grow with our beloved winery!
Key Responsibilities:
Work alongside front-of-house staff in all areas of operation: bartending, serving, bussing, food running, and hosting.
- Provide memorable experiences to every guest
- Open and close the restaurant in the absence of management, ensuring all procedures are completed properly.
- Promote wine club memberships and increase wine sales through effective upselling techniques.
- Oversee point-of-sale transactions and maintain accurate daily sales records.
- Train and mentor tasting room staff, fostering a positive and energetic team environment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the tasting room and related facilities.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years in a supervisory role within an upscale food and beverage establishment.
- Strong knowledge of wine, with the ability to educate guests about our offerings.
- Experience with POS and restaurant reservation systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A commitment to outstanding customer service and hospitality.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
- Open availability, including weekends and some weekdays.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
Compensation:
Hourly wage starts at $14, plus tips and commission on Wine Club sales,
averaging $20–$25/hour.

We go directly to the locations where our grape varietals grow well. For instance, we ferment our Petite Sirah with California fruit grown in Lodi, CA, while our Pinot Grigio is produced in Michigan City with fruit farmed only 25 minutes away in Baroda, MI.
