Library Assistant (P.T.)

Monday, 9:00am - 5:00pm. 

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 1:00pm - 5:00pm.

Possibility of additional fill-in hours from time to time. 

The Library Assistant will provide excellent customer service. This individual will work under the supervision of the Circulation Manager. The ability to work independently is a must. 

The Library assistant may perform some or all of the following duties:

• Operates and assists with managing the circulation desk.
• Assists patrons with various needs including with public computers and with use of the integrated library system catalog.
• Resolves customer service issues with patrons.
• Empties book drop and shelves materials.
• Assists with library volunteers which may including training.
• Checks accuracy of patron accounts.
• Will acquire working knowledge of regulations and procedures pertaining to library responsibilities.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree or college credits working towards Library degree a plus.
• One (1) year experience in a library setting plus experience with ILS.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of library principles and practices.
• Excellent computer skills.

• Ability to read to take direction.
• Knowledge of basic office procedures.
