• $14.00 - $15.50 per hour
• +$4/hour weekend shift differential

Job Summary

As a Lifeguard at the YMCA, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and enjoyment of our members and guests. Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing supervision of the pool area.
• Delivering a high-quality experience for children and parents.
• Enforcing pool rules in a polite, courteous, fair, and consistent manner.
• Upholding the YMCA's core values and commitment to safety.
• Adhering to all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety protocols.

Requirements

• Red Cross or YMCA Lifeguard Certification (required).
• Passion for water safety and customer service.
• Ability to enforce rules with courtesy and consistency.
• Strong commitment to safety.

Physical Demands

1. Ability to walk, stand, and sit for long periods of time while maintaining alertness for several hours at a time. 
2. Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency; must be able to life equipment weighing up to 20 pounds or remove a victim from the water in the event of an emergency.
3. Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate. 
4. Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
5. Position may require bending, leaning, kneeling, and walking.
