Job Summary
We are seeking a responsible and safety-conscious lifeguard to join our team! As a lifeguard at our busy pool, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of swimmers. You will enforce safety rules and monitor pool activities throughout your shift. The ideal candidate has experience with rescue procedures and is first aid/CPR certified.
Responsibilities
- Provides close supervision over all swimmers while on duty.
- Rescues swimmers in danger of drowning.
- Administers artificial respiration, mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, or first aid as indicated.
- Teaches swimming, assists at swimming meets, and other aquatic programs scheduled at the facility.
- Patrols pool area for cleanliness and safety hazards.
- Keeps order and enforces rules and regulations when patrons fail to observe them.
- Inspects assigned lifeguarding and first aid equipment daily.
- Sweeps and disinfects pool deck, removing cans, glass, bottles, and litter.
- Checks daily schedule for rotation duty in the chair and remain at assigned post until relieved.
Qualifications
- Must hold and maintain current lifeguard certification
Must hold and maintain current CPR, AED, first aid, and oxygen administration
- Ability to stay focused for extended periods of time
- Strong communication skills
- Positive attitude and friendly demeanor
- Ability to respond quickly and calmly in emergency situations
