ABOUT US:  The Schaumburg Park District is an award-winning public agency that provides its 80,000 residents with a wide variety of recreational facilities, pools, programs, events, parks and open spaces. Schaumburg Park District’s aquatics program offers several options including indoor and outdoor pools, swim lessons and a competitive swim team. Atcher Island and Meineke Pool are opening during the summer and The Water Works is open year-round.

JOB SUMMARY:  The lifeguard is responsible for maintaining a safe and effective aquatic environment. Duties include supervision of pool facility and patrons, rule enforcement, customer service, preventative lifeguarding, and applying first aid & rescue techniques as necessary.  Responsibilities also include performing of basic maintenance duties.

LOCATIONS: We are seeking lifeguards at our various Schaumburg locations which include: Atcher Island, Meineke Pool, and The Water Works (indoor waterpark facility). Specific location will be dependent upon request and employer need.

QUALIFICATIONS:  The best applicants will have a friendly, outgoing personality with the ability to demonstrate a safety consciousness.  Free lifeguard certification training is provided, and you will be paid for your time spent completing the certification training. The ability to successfully complete our Lifeguarding CPR/AED certification through Jeff Ellis & Associates is required. Regular and reliable attendance is a must.

SCHEDULING & PAY We have both seasonal and permanent positions available!  The seasonal positions are from May – September. Scheduling is flexible and will vary. Available shifts include weekdays, weekends and/or holidays. Hiring rate is $18 per hour.
