Description

 Job Responsibilities – Line Cook 

• Prepare and cook meals in accordance with standardized recipes, resident preferences, and dietary needs, including low-sodium, diabetic, or allergen-sensitive options.
   
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards at all times, including proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients (FIFO method).
   
• Ensure meal quality and presentation meets community standards before serving to residents.
   
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef on daily prep lists, menu planning, and special dietary accommodations.
   
• Assist with receiving and stocking deliveries, checking for quality, accuracy, and proper storage.
   
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment in a safe and clean condition; report any malfunctions or safety concerns promptly.
   
• Support timely meal service during breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner by working efficiently and effectively on assigned stations.
   
• Follow all health department regulations, internal policies, and procedures for food handling and workplace safety.
   
• Contribute to a positive and respectful work environment, demonstrating teamwork and professionalism in a senior living setting.
   
• Adapt to residents' needs and requests, helping create a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience.

Requirements

Education: Minimum educational requirements include a high school diploma or its equivalent. 

Experience:  

Prefer two (2) year experience working in a restaurant or similar environment as a line cook.  

Prefer one (1) year experience cooking in hospitality or senior living  

Keep up in a very high paced kitchen.

Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
