LPN Float - Emergency Department

Part-Time 10a - 10p

The Licensed Practice Nurse is responsible for age-appropriate patient care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Their scope of practice is determined by the Kentucky Nurse Practice Act and established Baptist Health Hardin and Nursing Service policies, procedures, and standards of practice.

• Assists in gathering initial assessment data (excluding admission physical assessment).

• Contributes to re-assessments.

• Evaluates patients progress toward established goals, communicating with RN as needed. Includes patients, families and significant other in data collection.

• Performs treatments and administers medications per policies and procedures and within scope of LPN practice.

Requirements:

• Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program leading to licensure.

• Current unrestricted licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Kentucky required.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire. 

• Must obtain mandatory nonviolent crisis prevention training to be completed prior to end of orientation period and maintained annually.
