Job Description - Maintenance

Jewell Instruments is a world leader in the manufacture and distribution of accelerometers, tilt and geophysical sensors, avionic instrumentation, and panel meters. We provide custom solutions to many diverse industries, including military, aerospace, rail transportation, marine, medical, industrial, telecommunications and more.

We are currently seeking a hands-on, enthusiastic Maintenance worker to work on site part time (appx. 20 hours per week) in our Maintenance department.

This exciting opportunity is responsible for:

Assist maintenance in general building maintenance, including light carpentry and plumbing as well as outside property maintenance.
Maintains building, performing minor and routine painting, minor repairs and other related maintenance activities.
Notifies maintenance concerning need for repairs to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
Responsible for maintaining the upkeep of the exterior of Jewell Instruments such as snow removal from sidewalks, sidewalks and maintaining the landscaping.
Maintain clean and safe work area at all times.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
1 - 3 years of experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right entry level candidate.
Able to withstand constant standing and reaching along with continuous bending, squatting, and walking, as well as frequent kneeling, climbing, sitting, and use of fine motor skills.
Able to lift 55 pounds, frequently lift and carry 25 pounds, and work on ladders, staging, and other related equipment.
Able to work with minimal supervision, work well with others, and be a team player.
