Maintenance Assistant

Description

Performs basic activities related to maintenance and upkeep of physical facility and grounds. Part-time employees work 16 hours or less a week.

Note: All employees of Cascadia Healthcare are required to submit and be cleared to work in the facility per each 

state’s specific background check requirements prior to contact with patients/residents.

Essential Functions

• Performs routine maintenance and repairs required to keep the building and equipment in good working order.
• Manages small painting, redecorating, carpentry, concrete and masonry projects. Requests need for contractor assistance for large-scale projects.
• Regularly inspects building and grounds, and reports identified areas for maintenance to the Maintenance Manager.
• Assists the Maintenance Director with various tasks as assigned.
• Ensures punctuality and regular attendance for assigned shifts.

• Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company’s Code of Business Conduct, its policies and procedures, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Knowledge of building codes and rules and regulation regarding the operation of plant equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA and other safety requirements preferred.
• Ability to work mostly independently and with little supervision.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 

Licenses/Certification

• Valid driver’s license

Experience

• One year experience in building maintenance.
• Six months of experience in long-term care preferred.
