Maintenance Person

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Person at The Foundry Hotel Asheville, Curio Collection is a highly skilled individual responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of the hotel’s facilities, including the restaurant and public areas. This is a part-time, hourly position with a focus on maintaining the highest standards of quality and cleanliness. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player, have a strong attention to detail, and possess excellent problem-solving abilities.

Compensation & Benefits:

The Maintenance Person will be compensated at a rate of $20 to $23 per hour, paid biweekly. 

Responsibilities:

- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs, fixing leaky faucets, and changing air filters
- Conduct regular inspections of the hotel’s facilities to identify and address any maintenance issues
- Respond to guest requests for maintenance assistance in a timely and efficient manner
- Ensure that all HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems are functioning properly
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work, including daily logs and repair reports
- Maintain and repair all kitchen equipment to ensure the smooth operation of the restaurant
- Assist with setting up and breaking down of equipment for events and functions
- Monitor and address any safety and security concerns, including fire safety and emergency procedures
- Keep all public areas, including restrooms, lobby, and restaurant, well-maintained and free of any hazards
- Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors for larger maintenance projects
- Maintain an organized inventory of supplies and equipment and request replacements as needed

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in maintenance or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar maintenance role, preferably in a hotel or restaurant setting
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Proven ability to work independently and with a team
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
- Familiarity with safety and security protocols and procedures
