Maintenance Technician (Part-time)

Primary location: Brookston, Duluth, Floodwood, and Hermantown, MN

Status: Part-time (20 hours per week)

Reports to: Maintenance Director

Pay rate: $22-$26 per hour (pay depending on experience)

As a Maintenance Technician, you'll handle routine, preventive, and some specialized maintenance tasks independently. Ensure home systems and infrastructure are functional and code-compliant, with minimal disruption to residents. 

What You'll Do:

• Independently perform repairs to plumbing, electrical, drywall, doors, etc.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance (e.g., HVAC filter schedules, smoke alarm tests, etc.)
• Oversee vehicle logs and coordinate oil changes, tire checks, and repairs. 
• Log maintenance activity and keep documentation organized. 
• Prioritize and close out maintenance tickets timely in the task tracking system. 
• Collaborate with house coaches to schedule tasks around resident routines. 
• Provide input on supply purchasing and improvement projects. 
• Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Director. 

What You'll Bring:

• 2+ years in building and facility maintenance. 
• Working knowledge of home systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.)
• Comfortable working around individuals with high behavioral needs. 
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and be fingerprinted if necessary. 
• High school diploma or equivalent required. 
• 18 years of age or older. 
• Valid driver's license.

Required skills:

• Proficient in troubleshooting and repairs. 
• Organization and time management. 
• Respectful, trauma-informed approach to interacting in residential settings.
