Maintenance Utility Clerk

Utility Clerk:

Keeping in mind the sustainability policies and practices of the Co-op, an ideal candidate for Utility Clerk will provide excellent customer service and general janitorial duties. These duties include but are not limited to: cleaning, sweeping, and responding to spills throughout the building. This is a part-time position, up to 28 hours per week, compensated at $17.25 to $17.50 per hour, with an employee store discount and paid time off. This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

· Assist with building maintenance and repair

· Excellent customer service

· Repair and/or service to tools and equipment

· Assist in providing a clean, safe environment for customers

Summary of Responsibilities:

Daily utility duties include maintenance and repair of the building. Light general custodial and maintenance tasks such as cleaning the sidewalk and parking lot, assisting in the prompt cleanup of spills, and other duties that may include the use of specialized equipment. Sanitize shopping carts, bathrooms, and cooler condensers, replace light bulbs, lighting fixtures, and/or air filters, and other general maintenance tasks as assigned. Perform basic store repair functions. Greet customers while performing duties on the store floor.

Requirements

Requirements: 

· Basic tool knowledge

· Keen attention to detail

· Ability to work with limited supervision

· Open availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Desired: 

· Knowledge of basic plumbing, carpentry, and/or electrical systems

· Bilingual (English/Spanish)

· Housekeeping and/or janitorial experience
